Raw, Green Soup Recipe With Blended Leafy Greens And Avocado

My largest meal of the day is usually dinner and I don’t do breakfast until I am hungry.
And when my body is ready for food, 9 times out of 10 I have a green smoothie or a shake for breakfast.
However, now that it is chilly in the mornings, a cooler drink just isn’t so appealing to my appetite.
So what’s a girl to do that likes getting her leafy greens in the a.m.? Why, GREEN SOUP of course!
This soup fuels me perfectly before an intense workout and is so satisfying yet still light in my belly making it a great boost at least a half hour before a yoga practice too!
My friend Carla from Living Vegan 101 shared this raw soup recipe with me and it is now my go-to breakfast whenever I have avocado in the house (which is often because I have a generous friend who has an orchard of avo trees that are dripping with ripe fruit right now). (more…)
Have You Ever Drank A Rainbow? A Magical Tea Recipe.
A few weeks ago I had a remarkable amazing flower essence session with Caitlin Naramore. The whole experience was profound in many ways. To use the essence of flowers, plants, places and such to reharmonize our being from the inside out really shines the light on how miraculous life is! Maybe that is a topic for another post. Today I want to share with you the recipe of a tea that she shared with me during our session. RAINBOW TEA! Yummmmmm. The following is from Caitlin herself….
This is Rainbow Tea!
A collective collaboration from a powerful team of magical minds co-created this recipe over the course of many years, at last landing it as “the one, the only Rainbow Tea”. A frothy, delightful, all-in-one brew for the sensualist and healthful of heart.
Big props to Amber Hartnell and Elijah Ray who coined the term Rainbow Tea and have made it the talk of the Garden Isle and watched it spread like wild fire to California, New York, and beyond. Be ready to behold and try for yourself the magic and wonder of Rainbow Tea.
A frothy, sumptuous blend made by me and my friends that carries us through each day deeply nourished, delighted and satisfied. Ingredients are subject to change based on fluctuations of moods and needs! (more…)
A Natural Deodorant Recipe THAT WORKS

Did you know that conventional deodorants tend to be loaded with ingredients that are not healthy for your body? And I haven’t found one particular natural one I really, really love. But this recipe produces the most mind-blowingly effective deodorant ever!
At first I was hesitant to make one because I am so busy, why would I wanna add one more thing to my list. But it was so easy to put together and now I will never leave home without it!
There was lots of commenting and interaction going on over on my Facebook page when I inquired the interest if anyone else wanted to know about this stuff. Response was way bigger than I expected. So I made a video and it shares a funny story about why I started looking for other natural deodorant possibilities in the first place. (Ummmm, yeah, gotta love those keiki.) (more…)
Spiced Vegan Chai Recipe

I love me a good chai! Love, love, love it!
And my dear friend Jana Kilgore, who has magical super powers in the kitchen, is sharing her secret chai tea recipe with us today!
I have said it before and I will say it again, Jana brings passion to the palate! Her love for food goes into the way she prepares each meal and into how she creates each recipe. She lovingly prepared meals for us during our January, 2012 yoga retreat on Kauai, and what a sweet blessing it was!
The following is her deliciously, soul soothing chai tea creation:
The Best Green Juice On Island, Recipe Included

If you are looking for the best green juice on island then you must check out Java Kai in Kapaa.
I love this juice because it is packed with fresh, local, organic greens and veggies and it makes me feel alive and energized!
Java Kai also has the most affordable, freshly-juiced juice menu on island (as far as I am aware of), and today I get to share with you their amazing Dragon Juice recipe! How lucky are we?!
Ingredients for 8 ounce serving:
A Live Lemon-Banana Pie That Will Rock Your World

One of the deserts we drooled over during my May Yoga Retreat here on Kauai was a live Lemon-Banana filled pie. Not only is this pie mind-blowingly delicious, it also baffles the mind to know that there is ZERO sugar or additional sweeteners added to this amazing treat.
Ohhhhh, my mouth waters just thinking about how good this is!
The participants at my retreats have encouraged me to make a Recipe Book that includes all of our meals we enjoy together throughout the week. Ummm, how yummy is that encouragement? (more…)
Eating Breakfast From My Garden Inspires My Day And My Spring Cleanse

A friend of mine, Micah Skye, recently posted a recipe for his morning soup and it intrigued me. He mentioned that he had lost 10 pounds from eating this soup each morning for a month. With springtime bursting here on Kauai, I had been mentally preparing for my Spring cleanse, and this soup felt to me to be the perfect way to go into it.
I was inspired to give it a try and super stoked that I had most of the ingredients right out in my garden.
What I love about this green soup is that I can harvest most of it myself, it is easy to make, digests easily, is incredibly healthy, and is a little bit warm (which I love in the morning).
Micah has a passion for food and prepares some of the most amazing cuisine on the planet. He will be, by the way, preparing a great portion of our food for my April 30th yoga retreat here on Kauai! He will be using local, seasonal, and biodynamic foods to create our nourishing and tasty meals. Find out more about this soul quenching, yoga and nature retreat here. There is still time to register and come join us in the fun.
But for today I wanted to share his RAW SOUP RECIPE and my short Q&A with him about the synergy of foods and sacred geometry.
